1 week

So it’s been a week since my last innoculation with 10 hookworm larvae. I don’t know if the entry dots are accurate, but by the second day, I tried to analzye my rash. I counted 7 dots, but this could be absolutely meaningless. I did save my band-aid, in the hopes that when I find a microscope I can see if any larvae remain imbedded in the paper. If they even last that long dead.

The “hookworm high” faded by about day 5. I’m now back to my grumpy old self. My overall pain seems to be a little decreased, but I’m still having mild nueropathy and arthritis in my elbow and arm. My bowel movements are about the same. I’m twitching and have crampy calves, so magnesium and potassium have fallen again. I’m just pleased I didn’t have a negative reaction, like diarrhea or fever. Now I guess they’re either going past my heart or are beginning the arduous climb up my lungs.

This week I’m entering the dreaded PMS week, and after that I will reach week 3, when the larvae are supposed to hit my intestines and cause the worst of the inflammatory reaction. So far so good…
