1 month post re-infection

gardendressIt worked! It worked! And so quickly this time, and with only 10 larvae! I got my blood results back. 4 Weeks ago, my CRP was 2.5, ESR 19. Now, CRP is 0.8, ESR 10. Inflammation is going down! Everything else is normal. NORMAL! I don’t think I’ve ever had a normal reading, except for the glorious year after my surgery before I had an antibiotic which ruined everything.

Before CDAI: 163 After: 63.9

I don’t have any inflammation!!! Re-infection works! I’ve slept through the night 6 out of 7 of the last nights, my pain is still pretty much gone. I had a lot of gas the last few days as a result of broccoli, I think. Though sourdough bread seems to go down just fine. I wake up and don’t have to run to the toilet (mostly), and I’ve had two farts that didn’t result in a mess. I’m still going several times a day, and though there are a lot more solid chunks mixed in, I’m not having a perfect, round formed turd in the toilet. I aspire. I may have a lot of healing left to do, or I may have to venture into the land of probiotics to normalize my bowel function, or it’s just too late…

I’m kind of in a stupor, disbelieving that I may have found something efficacious, as long as I can keep enough worms in me. And perhaps I will just get an initial beneficial result, and the good times will begin to fade. But I will reinfect more often (if only for the hookworm high), and try to keep track of things better this time.

But a pervading sense of doom has been lifted, and though I fear that eventually my immune system will override the effects, even with reinfection, right now it worked, and I am better than I was, and hopefully if the inflammation can stay reduced, I will become better by the day and heal, finally heal!

Oh, litte worms, how grateful I am for your super powers!
