Intestinally, things are getting better! After the 8 week mark, things settled down and pain has receded to the point that I HAVE NO PAIN! This is wonderful, as I was fearing impending surgery for my ileal-cecal valve, which has narrowing, and has worsened this last year. Gas still gets a little blocked there sometimes, and I don’t dare eat a large amount of roughage, but I am pleased by the lack of pain.
I’ve also had a few wonderful bowel movements. Solid, normal coming out. They’re still skinny, but are widening a little. Not every bowel movement is like this; some are still loose, some more soft mounds. But there is no pain when I go, and it feels wonderful when they are solid going through. I still have mucus, though, but that is going down as well. I’ve had few farts without a mess, though I’m still mostly doing the upside yoga pose when I need to, which obviously isn’t possible when I am out.
The neuropathy, however, hovers. I am taking my supplements and not noticing much in the way of improvement. I have just added alfalfa and bought some kelp capsules yesterday. I am also taking an SCD multivitamin, B complex, liquid calcium and magnesium, and SCD cal/mags when I remember them.
I’m being more consistent with my VSL#3 caps. Taking 3 a day, trying to remember the fourth. That may be part of my bowel improvement as well; hard to know whether it’s the worms or the probiotics, or both.
I am eating toast like there’s no tomorrow. Which really, there may not be, as I have no idea how long these worms will last. I know I should take the prudent approach, but with Crohn’s, the good days never last, and it feels like the jail victim who got released for paroll, but knows deep down that something will probably happen and jail will be in her future. Not a great mentality, I know. I could describe it as living in the moment. There, that’s more positive!
