google radio lab and download the podcast on parasites. there's a guy on there being interviewed who sells small doses off hook worms to people, like ships them off all sterile. apparently after infecting himself with hook worm has cured his asthma and all the allergies he was suffering from. they balanced out his immune system somehow.

This is amazing stuff.

I have been diagnosed with coeliac disease about 3 years ago. I am interested in joining a hook worm trail in Brisbane starting in August 2010. I am in India working at the moment. Is here any trails in Brisbane you could put me onto?

Regards,

John

I don't have a sure contact, but the celiac trial was conducted at Princess Alexandra Hospital by Dr John Croese. Here's the clinical trial information for the completed celiac trial. There is a list of participating study directors here:

http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00671138?term=hookworms&rank=7

Let us know if you find any information, or learn that the larger trial is recruiting. I imagine it isn't yet, or there would be a clinical trial listed, but the news piece made it sound like a larger scale trial was pending.
