I'm still having mucus sometimes between and before bowel movements. Urgency has gotten a LOT better - I can now usually hold it even when I have to go all of a sudden. I have solid stools mixed in with soft ones. No pain. A little more gas than the average person, and usually I can only pass gas without some mucus or a little stool if I've gone to the bathroom recently. So I'd say the mucus is the most troubling symptom left.

Yeah, I'm eating everything now. Bread, pizza from take-out places, hamburgers. I seem not to tolerate Indian food, eggplant, and fried foods. Beer gives me gas. Everything else is doing pretty well! Also ate a lot of flour/sugar over the holidays without negatives. AND I can now put cream, or 1/2 and 1/2 in my tea.

I don't know about the stricturing, since I haven't done a colonoscopy or other exam since the worms. But the pain is gone, and the inflammation on blood tests normal, so I'd say that would reduce the scarring since it's inflammatory. Before hookworms, I was getting partial blockages daily, and now I only feel that area if I've eaten a lot of roughage and gas producing foods. It does't hurt, though, just sometimes feel it when gas is backed up there.

Hi,

What kind of Crohn's symptoms are you still having? Are you eating gluten? Can you eat the occasional slice of pizza or burger?

Would you say the worms have prevented any progression of the stricture/scarring in your ileocecal valve?

Thanks!
