You are doing so much and it is so hard managing on your own. I hope and pray everyday that you will be symptom free.

Jacin: no I have not had helminth therapy yet. I am thinking of going the grass roots/homebrew path. There are far too many inconsistencies and bizarre contractual stipulations with 'mainstream' providers. Also seems they can't guarantee a pathogen free organism. The cost can't be justified when there are minimal R&D overheads.

I've read that, our ancestors, drank "hard" water right out of nature, which contained plenty of minerals, including lots of magnesium, which is one of the reasons it's predicted that a very high percent of Americans have mag deficiency.

I wonder if drinking good mineral water, some that might be known to contain magnesium would also be helpful?

Something like this, although I'm sure there are others

Leo, no, my EOS are either flagged at 0 or are in the low range.

Jacin, the serum values for magnesium and calcium will always show normal unless you have some huge abnormality, like thyroid issues. I'm pretty sure I'm suffering from low cal/mag, and was told to ask for the RBC magnesium test. I may even ask for a muscle biopsy. I've just read that taking magnesium after meals isn't the best way to absorb it (which is what I've been doing), and that one needs a higher dose than I tolerate (300-400mg) to replete. I'm going to start magnesium infusions at the alternative doctor every week, and try to up my mag. glycinate. Soaking in it has helped too. I really think this is the culprit, it's just going to take time and a lot of effort to correct.

@Leo
Have you had worm therapy ?
Just checking there is no link.

@Deborah
Its worth perhaps having a blood check for mineral defficiencies

Have you had your eosinophil levels checked? I had months of severe twitching when I had very high eosinophilia alternating with neutrophilia. Doctors now think I may have been possibly developing Churg Strauss syndrome. THe neurotoxins in the eosinophils were affecting my nerves and a long course of prednisone sorted me out.

Twitching is on and off, in muscles all over; sometimes in my back, my eyelid, various muscles. I can feel it; I've never looked, but I'm sure I could see it as well.

I also get "charlie horses", and toe cramps (where you have to hold your foot to uncramp) and if I stand on my toes for more than a few seconds, my calves will cramp.

I'm taking 400 mg. of magnesium, about 650 calcium, and I just added a potassium supplement. Once I started soaking in magnesium chloride everyday, the anxiety and insomnia got way better, but I haven't noticed a big decrease in twitching or cramping. It gets worse when I have more frequent bowel movements, or sweat a lot, so I'm still operating under the mineral defincies theory, but don't know why it's taking so damn long to reverse, unless my absorption is impaired, which may be the case, but odd that I have gained 30 pounds and am absorbing iron supplements, but perhaps the colon is unable to absorb like the small intestine, I don't know.
